Early Life
K. Dinesh's journey began in India, where he obtained a Master's degree in Mathematics from Bangalore University. Prior to his entrepreneurial pursuits, he worked at a government-run electric factory. His initial interest in technology and a desire to learn new skills led him to co-found Infosys in 1981.
Rise to Success
Dinesh, along with six other co-founders including N.R. Narayana Murthy, established Infosys with a modest initial investment. Over three decades, he played a pivotal role in shaping the company's trajectory. During his tenure, he served as the Head of Quality, Information Systems, and the Communication Design Group. Under his leadership, the company's software quality processes achieved world-class benchmarks, including CMM Level 5 in 1999. Infosys grew to become one of the largest and most successful IT consulting companies globally, operating in over 30 countries. He retired from the board in 2011.

While at Infosys, Dinesh focused on project management, software quality processes, and problem-solving. His dedication to excellence contributed to the company's remarkable on-time delivery of quality software. He also led Infosys Technologies Australia and played key roles in Human Resources Development and Education and Research.
Philanthropy
Following his retirement from Infosys in 2011, K. Dinesh and his wife Asha established the Ashraya Hastha Trust, focusing on education, healthcare, animal welfare, and agriculture. The trust has supported numerous projects across 27 states in India, impacting the lives of many. Dinesh and his wife have funded initiatives such as a cancer center at the Narayana Health Hospital and a clinic, demonstrating their commitment to social causes. He is considered among the most generous philanthropists.
